AICF Camp in Goa a huge success!
International Master Chandrasekhar Gokhale
was felicitated by Arjuna Awardee and former
India Captain Brahmanand Shankhwalkar at
the conclusion of the AICF Coaching Camp
which was underway for 8 days at the Conference
Hall of the Sports Authority of Goa, Campal.
Most of the children participating in the camp
were specially trained by the International Master
with emphasis on middle game techniques and
with the goal of getting them prepared for the
upcoming National 'B' tournament in Zambaulim.
Among the students were Double World Under 8
Girls Champion Ivana Furtado, National Under 9 fourth
placed Mohanan Harikrishnan, Vidula Dempo,
Ritviz Parab, Nihal Melwani and others.
IM Gokhale expressed his satisfaction with the progress
of the kids and said that there will definitely be more
laurels won by the Goan youngsters in the days to come.
AICF Vice President Salgaocar thanked IM Gokhale for his
efforts in moulding the young chess minds of Goa
and hoped that he would make more such visits
in the future as well. GSCA Secretary Suhas Asnodkar
praised AICF for the coaching scheme and expressed
his desire for more such camps in the coming years.
